All that crazy hoop jumping is ridiculous and because of it, I won't do it. Then the users have to toss out their whole save and uninstall the world, then clean the content from their game - as removing the world still leaves the content in the users game, and then redownloading a world and starting over.
#The sims 3 cc apartments update#
So that means the world creator has to stop everything - put their world back into CAW to remove all that content and either update it (which is even more foolish) or just remove it period.

Users cannot remove CC or mods used in a world in CAW.
Unfortunately for the creators of this CC and mods, and the world builder who use them, that when an update creates a problem with a world, there is absolutely nothing the user can do about it. It is a known fact that updates make CC and mods not work properly and causes world corruption when they don't. I don't like it at all in worlds because it dooms a world period. No, it's no secret I don't care for CC and mods - nothing against the creators of this stuff - it is not really their fault that the Sims 3 is not the most user friendly game for CC and mods. Most of the folks I have tested for though general have the proper box, so I have not been running into that for a long time as most of them use my friends Aynats solution for the mailboxes. I will test the apts for simmers to make sure they are working properly - especially if they have elevators - but it has been my experience where I have seen larger bills for sims in apts with the standard housebox instead of the apt box. But honestly I am not much into the apartment thing - I don't mind if there are some in the town as long as they are not the high rise type - I hate highrises because of the bounce I get when trying to play a sim in them - turns my stomach - hehehe, but they can be a couple in the town which I tend to see a lot of NPCs will use - which is fine - it keeps the houses availiable for sims that matter - so I don't choose apts for any sims I play - unless I am testing a world. I have seen the same size and type apt building with the proper apartment mailbox and the bills go way down in price. SimLibby - well every time I have came across a apartment without the apartment mailbox, my sims has these astromical bills, which is why I believe they are being charged for the whole buildings common areas and their entire apartment.

So it's perfectly safe to download and use a lot prepared by someone else for apartment building.
#The sims 3 cc apartments mod#
Once the apartment mailbox is on the lot the mod isn't needed to keep and use it even if it was used to place it. The good news is that instead of stripping down that particular brownstone, you can have somebody else do it for you.
The only thing different with the apartment style mailbox is a lack of cleanable lots with the apartment style mailbox in Bridgeport. The only catch is that someone who doesn't own World Adventures for the China mail box, Barnacle Bay for that mailbox, or Lunar Lakes for the futuristic mailbox might have their box replaced by the default version again if they grab the lot from the exchange. You can actually get one of the World Adventures, Barnacle Bay, or Lunar Lakes mailboxes into other worlds, including your own custom worlds, simply by saving an empty lot with the mailbox to your library and placing it down on any empty lot in the world you want it in. Bulldoze the lot, or convert it from commercial to residential, and it gets the default with no option to change or replace it. Without a mod, the only way for a lot to have a non-default mailbox is to start with one.
